TJ Stites PT, DMT, FAAOMPT has had a life long passion for exercise. He has participated in amateur sports for most of his life, playing soccer, running, cycling and racing triathlons. His passion for exercise, combined with a strong desire to impact the lives of people around him, made physical therapy a natural career path.
As a physical therapist, TJ enjoys working with patients having acute and chronic orthopedic and neurologic injuries of the spine and extremities. He is quick to point out, “Properly dosed exercise changes tissues” and “Manual therapy creates the opportunity for good exercise.”
He has specialized in Orthopedic and Manual physical therapy, completing a certification, residency and fellowship in Orthopedic and Manual physical therapy.
Having graduated from Norfolk’s Maury High School, TJ received his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Radford University. He earned his graduate degree in physical therapy from Old Dominion University and completed a doctorate in Orthopedic and Manual physical therapy from the Ola Grimsby Institute.
Outside of the office, TJ enjoys spending time with his family, BBQ’ing, cycling and hanging out on the water.
TJ holds Direct Access Certification and is available to evaluate and treat patients without a prescription from a physician.
