Jonathan Lloyd, PT, DPT decided that he wanted to become a physical therapist after seeing the positive impact that he made as a personal trainer in the lives of my clients. He
earned his Graduate Certificate of Health Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Radford University. He is certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and enjoys treating patients with balance/gait deficits as well as athletes returning to sport.
Jonathan feels that the most important factor to consider when treating patients is that not every patient will respond too or benefit from traditional patho-anatomical treatment approaches. “I firmly believe that it is essential to consider all aspects of a patient’s day to day life in order to design a customized treatment plan that will be most beneficial” he says.
When he’s not in the clinic, you can find Jonathan paddling his kayak, sitting on the shore with a fishing pole in hand, or on a hiking trail with his dog.
Jonathan holds a Direct Access Certification through the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy allowing him to evaluate and treat patients without a prescription. As part of your healthcare team, Jonathan will make an assessment of your condition and create a plan to start you on the road to wellness.
