Jessica Schrader, PTA is originally from Sumerduck, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech in May of 2006 in Health Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise with a concentration in Exercise & Health Promotion.
Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Jessica moved on to Wytheville Community College where she earned her Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapy in May of 2009. Before joining the Tidewater Physical Therapy team in July of 2015, Jessica worked for Carilion Clinic in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Sports have always played a role in Jessica’s life. She was active in volleyball, softball, and cheerleading in high school. She thought seriously about a career as an Athletic Trainer but quickly realized Physical Therapy’s positive impact on someone’s life and changed course.
Jessica has lots of experience with pediatrics but enjoys treating all types of patients. “If you’ve seen one patient…you’ve seen one patient. Every person is an individual and deserves personalized care,” she says.
Jessica says, “I’ve had some patients make significant impacts on my life. I still keep in touch with some of them and have made good friends that were patients.” These are the patients she will never forget.
Outside of the office you can find Jessica running, playing pool, or playing with her son and dogs. She also enjoys participating in community missions at her church, such as the food bank or collecting school supplies for children.
Jessica lives by the motto, “Dream big. If you want to do something, strive, work hard, and keep pushing forward.”
