Jason Kelly, PT, DPT, bringing an expertise and background in high-performance athletics, has been promoted to Clinical Director of the Tidewater Physical Therapy Colonial Heights Clinic near Richmond.
For Kelly, leading the Tidewater Physical Therapy Colonial Heights Clinic is particularly rewarding as he works with and treats residents in the community where he was raised. “I am excited to be able to give back to a community I grew up in and have lived in my whole life,” Kelly said.
As Clinical Director, Kelly wants to see the office reflect his values. “I am a hard worker who values teamwork, work ethic and positive attitudes to achieve a motivated and friendly work place,” he said. Kelly has the well-being of the clinic’s patients paramount in his mind. “We like to strive for patient satisfaction and positive outcomes for each of our patients,” Kelly said. “We want to ensure the patients have a great experience with physical therapy and return to a healthy lifestyle.”
Kelly earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University after graduating in 2007 from Lynchburg (Va.) College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. At Lynchburg College, Kelly competed for the Hornets as a pitcher on the baseball team and is still in the school’s athletic record books for the number of innings pitched and strikeouts in a career. As a former collegiate baseball pitcher, he has unique insight into the special needs of athletes and has developed an interest in the rehabilitation and performance improvement of throwing athletes of all sports.
