Runners Education Series May 2014

runningCalling all runners! Have a nagging pain? Injury? Perhaps just some questions you need answered as you gear up for races this season.

Tidewater Physical Therapy and its Performance Centers, in conjunction with Point 2 Running Company, will host a free runners’ education series through May in Newport News.

The doors will open at the location of each seminar at 7:45 a.m. for a light breakfast before the presentation begins at 8 a.m. The presentations will include a 40-minute lecture followed by a 20-minute question and answer period.

Functional Movement Screen. The Functional Movement Screen, developed by Gray Cook, is one of the most effective methods of examining risk of injury in athletes. Come take part in this 7-screen assessment and learn how to correct basic movement patterns to maximize running form and decrease likelihood for injury.

Presented by the Tidewater Performance Trainers from Tidewater Physical Therapy.
