PTA Profile: Tracey Vick
All through high school, Tracey Vick knew she wanted to do something in the medical field.
“At first, I thought I would like to pursue a career in nursing,” Tracey said.
But when her grandfather suffered from a stroke and Tracey took him to his physical therapy sessions, “my mind was changed forever.”
Tracey is a Franklin native who graduated from Franklin High School and earned her Applied Science degree from John Tyler Community College. Today, Tracey is a physical therapy assistant in Tidewater’s Franklin clinic, the only physical therapy clinic in Franklin that offers aquatic therapy.
“Living in a small town, you run into a lot of your patients in the community,” said Tracey.
It’s why she remembers all of them, and why she’s regarded at very friendly and compassionate, while also knowing how to push patients so they can see the best results from their therapy.
If you don’t see Tracey in the clinic, look for her on the baseball fields and basketball courts watching her son play. Her weekends are full running from ball game to ball game.
