Katie Sullivan, PT, DPT will tell you the best piece of advice she’s ever received is that a good attitude and a smile can get you a long way. She believes that in this profession, when she’s making a huge impact on someone’s life, the least she can do is give them some positivity and make sure the time they spend with her is fulfilling.
A Tidewater native, Katie received her B.S. Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of South Florida.
Katie feels a deep connection working with patients with neurological conditions. She says while although the changes seen may be slow, the gratification from making such a huge impact on someone’s life can’t be beat. She also likes to give her patients some different knowledge with each treatment session, that way they can have confidence that if they aren’t physically better yet, they at least have some knowledge of the healing process.
In her spare time Katie can be found outdoors mountain biking, running, hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, you name it she’s probably up for it.
Katie holds a Direct Access Certification through the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy allowing her to evaluate and treat patients without a prescription. As part of your healthcare team, Katie will make an assessment of your condition and create a plan to start you on the road to wellness.
