PT Profile: John Ackiss
John Ackiss, DPT, OCS, earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1992, his Advanced Master’s degree in 1994 from Old Dominion University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. John earned an orthopaedic specialization in 2002.
He began his career at Tidewater Physical Therapy in 2010 and is the Clinical Director of the Western Branch location in Chesapeake. He has a special interest in pre and post operative shoulder pathology, McKenzie treatment, thoracic outlet syndrome, knee arthroplasty and vestibular rehabilitation/fall prevention.
John is a coach for Chesapeake Special Olympics and is currently working on his transitional Doctorate at Virginia Commonwealth University.
