Amanda Worley joined Tidewater’s Kings Charter location in August 2014. Originally from Clarksville, Virginia, she received her bachelor’s degree from Longwood University in 2008 and her doctorate from Franklin Pierce University in 2012. Amanda is new to the Richmond / Ashland VA area having recently worked at the Jackson Clinic in Herndon and the Virginia Pain and Wellness Center in Reston.
Amanda became a physical therapist because she loves helping people and contributing to positive changes and advancement in her patients’ lives. This passion materialized when she helped a military patient pass his physical exam to continue serving.
“He came in barely able to lift his arm, but he had to do eight pull ups,” she says. “In three months he completed and passed his exam. I thought to myself, ‘Wow, I really made a difference in his life!’”
Amanda is a self-professed “nerd” who loves reading about exercise science and total motion release. She is also an avid trail runner and a former cheerleader and softball player. She says she tries hard not to sweat the small stuff, “Because in the end…it’s all really small stuff!”
Many of the physical therapists at Tidewater Physical Therapy Inc. hold Direct Access Certification through the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
Amanda holds Direct Access Certification and is available to evaluate and treat patients without a prescription from a physician.
