PT Profile: Amanda Tolbert

Amanda Tolbert received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2007. In 2010, she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University.
Tolbert has a special interest in treating lower extremity injuries, especially those that are sports related.
Amanda specializes in treating women’s health related disorders such as incontinence, pelvic pain disorders and pelvic organ prolapse.

Effective treatment strategies include biofeedback, manual therapy, and individualized patient education.
With all of her patients, Amanda believes that a balance between therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques is essential to return a patient to their maximal level of function.
“Being a physical therapist allows you to connect with the patient,” Amanda said.
Amanda is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and practices at Tidewater’s Powhatan Clinic at 3510 Anderson Highway, Suite 2.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
