Back and Neck Pain:
The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy

McKenzie PhotoThe McKenzie method, developed by physical therapist Robin McKenzie, is one of a few clinically proven and scientific validated methods of diagnosing and treating back and neck pain.

In contrast to other treatment methods, the McKenzie method is an active patient treatment philosophy that emphasizes prevention and intervention while encouraging patients to be directly involved in their own treatment.

This is especially helpful for those patients whose back or neck pain is caused by specific movements or repeated activities.   A physical therapist trained in the McKenzie method can identify other movements, exercises and positions that, if practiced and adopted, can reverse that process and eliminate or reduce pain.
