Massage Therapy

massage photo

Unlike other types of massage aimed at relaxation and stress release; massage therapy utilized in a physical therapy setting is  therapeutic and often an integral component in a patient’s physical therapy program.

Massage therapists are licensed health professionals who apply scientifically developed massage techniques to relieve muscle tension, spasms, inflammation, fluid retention, aches, stiffness, and pain.  During treatment, your physical therapist may include localized massage such as deep tissue massage, myofascial release, or trigger point massage in conjunction with manual therapy techniques provided by the therapist.
