For Tidewater Physical Therapy, now located throughout Southeast and Central Virginia, the Virginia Peninsula will always be home. Wayne MacMasters, President and Founder of Tidewater Physical Therapy, chose Newport News when he opened his first clinic in 1986.
Today, Tidewater Physical Therapy’s presence on the Virginia Peninsula includes three clinics in Newport News (in the Denbigh, Oyster Point and Hidenwood neighborhoods) and two in Hampton (off of Magruder Boulevard near NASA and Langley Air Force Base and Executive Drive near the Coliseum shopping district). The company’s corporate offices are also located in Newport News, conveniently located near Riverside Health System’s Regional Medical Center and the City Center business district.
The clinic locations are conveniently located to residents in both cities as well as Poquoson and Yorktown.
Patients seeking, among other treatments, comprehensive physical therapy, aquatic therapy, work performance and hardening, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Dry Needling, pediatric physical therapy, orthotics, vestibular and neurological rehabilitation, balance and fall prevention therapies and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction therapy can find them in the Newport News and Hampton Physical Therapy Clinics.
The Oyster Point location is also home to Tidewater Physical Therapy’s largest Performance Center, where professional, college and high school athletes hone their skills for their fields and courts of play. Personal trainers also work with adult athletes.
The Peninsula Region is led by Vice President and Regional Director Steve Howell PT, MEd.,
