Karen is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) and has served patients in the Richmond area since 1986. She received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1979 and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in Upper Extremity Management from VCU-Medical College of Virginia in 1986. Karen specializes in the evaluation and treatment of elbow, wrist and hand disorders, both post-surgical and non-surgical, degenerative diseases of the upper extremity and cumulative trauma. She emphasizes patient education and encourages patients to take an active role in their recovery process. Karen has served on the Board of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT), and currently is a reviewer for the Journal of Hand Therapy (JHT).
