Blood Drive at Battlefield Clinic

Tidewater Physical Therapy is proud to host a blood drive next month at its N. Battlefield Boulevard clinic in Chesapeake. An American Red Cross blood bus will be on site March 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the clinic parking lot. All eligible donors are encouraged to stop by and give the gift of life. Tidewater Physical Therapy will provide swag bags of goodies to all volunteer donors as a thank you for taking the time to give blood.

“We are so excited to participate in supporting the American Red Cross,” said Clinical Director Renee Midgett, PT DPT. “There is such an important need in our communities and we are thrilled to play a role in helping the local medical community meet that need.”

The Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood and platelet donations each day to serve the patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Blood and platelets are used to treat patient emergencies, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for cancer or sickle cell disease.

To give blood on March 3, donors need to provide a blood donor card, driver’s license or two other forms of identification to check-in. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. On the day of the drive, donors can save time by using RapidPass, at, to complete their pre-donation reading and health history online ahead of their visit.

Tidewater Physical Therapy’s Battlefield clinic is located at 927 N. Battlefield Blvd Ste 200 in Chesapeake. The clinic offers comprehensive physical therapy services as well as neurological and vestibular rehabilitation, balance and fall prevention and orthotics.
